EXPERIENCE NATURAL THERMAL COMFORT WITH UNDERFLOOR HEATING
Why not experience the ultimate in thermal comfort with underfloor heating that provides safe, efficient, evenly distributed warmth reducing your household heating utility bills by up to 50%.There’s nothing more comforting than the feeling of being warm – especially in the winter. It gives us a feeling of well-being and natural thermal comfort is something we all strive to achieve.
As the human body is designed to absorb warmth naturally, radiant underfloor heating is similar to the effects of sunlight as it delivers both a pleasant atmosphere and evenly distributed temperature throughout a room and building. Underfloor Heating provides heat which can be comfort controlled by a digital thermostat optimizing your comfort and your bills by eliminating waste.

Wet and Electric Underfloor Heating
There are two types of Underfloor Heating systems, the main and standard type of system is called a “wet” or hydronic underfloor heating system. these systems are typically heated by gas, oil or wood boilers or the more efficient heat pumps. The second type of underfloor heating system is an electric system which uses electricity to produce the heat. We supply both systems at Hotfoot as both have their advantages. Click on the links below for more information on either system:
STANDARD UNDERFLOOR HEATING (wet systems)
How does Underfloor Heating work?
Underfloor heating is a great alternative to traditional radiators or hot-air heating systems. Underfloor heating is hidden away and out of view, doing away with the clutter of radiators so it is the best option when space is at a premium particularly in apartments. Because of the even distribution of heat, it is the most efficient way to heat a room.
The difference between radiators and underfloor heating is radiators heat up the area immediately around them, this ends up being quickly dispersed upwards, and away from the desired area. On the other hand, a good underfloor heating system will heat a larger area. Radiators have to work harder for you to feel the effects of the heat and so require the water to be at a higher temperature to work effectively. Radiators tend to require heat in around the 60-70 degC mark. This ultimately means more energy is required for radiator systems and more energy means more cost.
Underfloor heating on the other hand works at a lower temperature and evenly distributes the heat all over the room. Underfloor heating systems operate well at temperatures around 40 degC, a big difference to the temperatures needed by traditional radiators. This means less energy use and ultimately underfloor heating systems will cost you less because of this. The lower temperatures also allow for the use of heat pumps as the heat source as they operate at their most efficient around these temperatures. Heat pumps heating underfloor heating are the heating method of the future.
Underfloor Heating Adds Value To Your Home
Using underfloor heating in your home adds to the resale value of the house. This is because you can achieve a higher BER rating with an underfloor heating system than with a radiator system and a higher BER rating tends to lead to a higher building value. The higher BER rating is possible because you ultimately use less energy with an underfloor heating system than you do with radiators. See this article from The Independent: CLICK HERE.
